This is a vision that was born out of the need to develop apostolic leaders in Africa. The conference was started 14 years ago and takes place every July of every year. It is a gathering of fivefold ministers and a forum for empowering them to function as strong leaders.
The conference provides a time of fellowship, equipping, and empowerment. In Luke 22:31–32, Jesus told Peter, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brothers.” A church leader will often need to receive apostolic and prophetic alignment to usher them to the next level of ministry. Every gospel minister needs a forum where they are ministered to for encouragement, envisioning, equipping, and impartation.
The Standing Strong Conference (SSC) is the place to meet that need for today’s church minister. Every minister who attends this conference will be activated to stand strong and consequently go strengthen the brethren. The hosts of the conference, Apostle David Juma and Pastor Asunta Juma, have an accumulation of virtue and grace from Christ Jesus over the years. At the helm of the Standing Strong Conference (SSC) are Apostle David Juma and Pastor Asunta Juma, visionary leaders who have faithfully carried this mandate for for over 14 years. Apostle Juma is a respected apostolic voice in Kenya and around the world — the Senior Minister of Life Church International, founder of Gospel Light Ministries, and Team Leader of the Alliance of Apostolic Churches and Ministries (AACM).
He is the National Convener for the International Coalition of Apostolic Leaders (ICAL) and an executive member of the Kenya Council of Church Alliances and Ministries (KCCAM).
His ministry extends to every continent — Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia — where he trains ministers, fathers leaders, and advances the apostolic vision of church reformation and leadership alignment. Together with Pastor Asunta Juma, whose ministry focuses on pastoral care, teaching, and mentoring women and ministers, they have built a strong apostolic culture that fuels the Standing Strong Conference (SSC)’s growth and spiritual authority.
Over the years, the Standing Strong Conference (SSC) has become one of Africa’s most significant apostolic gatherings. From its humble beginnings to its international scale today, the conference has remained committed to raising ministers of integrity, faith, and wisdom.
The conference has drawn ministers and delegates from nations such as the Netherlands, Australia, the USA, the UK, Brazil, Pakistan, Egypt, South Africa, Togo, Nepal, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, and across Asia. Over the years, the Standing Strong Conference (SSC) has hosted a rich legacy of anointed voices — apostles, prophets, bishops, pastors, and worship ministers who carry diverse graces for the equipping of the Body of Christ. From the early gatherings at Apostolic House, Nairobi, to the grand open-air editions at Uhuru Park Gardens, these ministers have helped shape the conference’s prophetic and apostolic impact.
Among those who have graced the platform are Apostle John Alley of Australia, Senior Minister of Peace Apostolic Ministries and author of The Apostolic Revelation, widely known for his teaching on spiritual fathering and apostolic reformation; Rev. John T.L. Maasbach of the Netherlands, President of the Johan Maasbach World Mission and Lead Pastor of The Blessing Church in The Hague, carrying a powerful evangelistic and revival mandate; and Apostle Yemi Adefarasin of Nigeria, Senior Pastor of Guiding Light Assembly, whose prophetic leadership continues to inspire transformation in nations.
Kenya has also been richly represented through leaders such as Bishop Kepha Omae, a respected city father with a vision for unity and revival; Bishop Thomas Muthee, a renowned apostolic leader and intercessor; Apostle Othniel Mwabili, a teacher and revivalist known for his insight on leadership and prophetic ministry; and Bishop Titus Masika, founder of Christian Impact Mission and a champion of Kingdom-based community transformation.
